I recently visited the gastroenterology office of Dr. Xiao and had a truly positive experience from start to finish. The first thing that stood out was the warm and welcoming attitude of the receptionist, Angela. She greeted me with a friendly smile, made the check-in process smooth and efficient, and went out of her way to answer any questions I had. Angela’s professionalism and kind demeanor set the tone for the rest of the visit. Dr. Xiao and his team are exceptional in providing thorough and personalized care. Dr. Xiao took the time to listen to my concerns and explained everything clearly, making me feel confident in the treatment plan. The office is well-organized, and the entire staff is attentive and compassionate. If you’re looking for a gastroenterology office with a skilled physician and a team that truly cares about patient experience, I highly recommend Dr. Xiao’s office. Angela at the front desk is a true asset to the team, and her friendliness adds to the overall positive atmosphere of the practice.

One of the receptionist was so rude and unreasonable. She wanted me to come 1.5hrs before my scheduled time, when I said I couldn’t plus I don’t live in that neighborhood, she scolded me. When I asked to confirm my schedule time she ignored me. The time I had on my phone’s calendar was different than what they’ve written on the instruction sheet, I chose to follow the one on the sheet because they hand-written it so I thought that’s more accurate than what I put down. On the way there she called and said I’m late and that she’s been waiting for me since she asked me to come earlier (1.5hrs earlier, to which I said I couldn’t) I said I’ll be there in 12min, which is before the time written on paper, she said “I’ll give you 12 more min, if I don’t see you then you won’t get anything done today” but when I got there I waited about 10min after checked in…. Then the doc told me their team of 10ppl had to wait for me bc I’m late, and that the instruction paper said get there earlier for preparation, the paper did not say that, however he was nice and calm about it, not like the receptionist who likes to scold and give ppl death stare (brown hair and tattooed brows) I was a receptionist too and it gets frustrating but it doesn’t give you the right to scold.

Receptionist is very rude and unprofessional! I was feeling chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, nassau, difficulty and pain swallowing, low grade fever, severe gerd that was causing nerve pain so I called up requesting a coating medication, didn’t think it’ll be a problem considering that I’m a regular patient. To start off, her tone and attitude was unprofessional. She asked me to spell the medication, I spelled it louder and clear. She then ask me to spell it again. Again, loud and clear. After spelling it she begins to mock me. Stuttering mentions a medication that has no relevance of what was requested(sucralfate) then hangs up on me. I called back, she tells me the doctor is busy and they called me. About an hr later I get a call, pick up and she goes,”Sorry! Wrong number!” Very condescending and based on her tone it was as if she did it intentionally. I asked how much longer until the doctor will call me. She goes,”doctor said it won’t help but they will call me. Nights of sleep lost, felling very uncomfortable.. still I’m being as patient as I could be. They never called me. Now it’s hours since I made the call. They’re not going to call me. Then I decided to call my primary and she wrote it without any problem. After that incident I decided to switch to another doctor. I understand that I didn’t have the best of tone due to the level of discomfort and nights of sleep loss but that’s not how you treat a patient, especially a regular patient. The level of hospitality was just absolutely unacceptable! If my primary could write that for me 123 without any issues for a medication that a GI facility should provide then why would I continue to seeing them? The doctor is a decent doctor but he needs to work on team management. I surprised how the receptionist even got her job with the manner she speaks to patients! Never went back!

I visited Dr. Xiao’s clinic last Thursday for a gastroenterology appointment, but their system was "upgrading" and couldn’t see patients. They rescheduled me for a **phone/video consultation at 4:30 PM on Tuesday**. However, no one called or connected me at the appointed time. At 4:50 PM, I called the clinic to follow up. They promised to call me "right away," but **two days have passed with no contact**. As a colitis patient, I rely on daily medication. **Stopping my meds for two weeks is dangerous**, yet the clinic seems indifferent to this urgency. **Poor communication and unmet commitments**—this is unacceptable for a medical service. I hope the clinic improves its reliability, especially for patients with chronic conditions.
