Awesome experience! I bought a turtle for my class and was helped by the sweetest saleslady (I think her name was Kemo?). She helped me every step of the way, showing me everything I needed, helped me decide what to buy, etc. And she was smiling and so happy to help, it made the buying experience a pleasure! Also, my students are absolutely loving our turtle! Would definitely recommend petco to anyone looking to purchase a pet...

This stars is strictly for the puppy play time that runs Saturdays. The employee who runs it focus to much on trying to sale her training sessions rather then actually facilitating the event. We were looking forward to introducing our puppy to others. Her only experience is with our senior dog. As a puppy all she wants to do is play but not our senior dog does not. At times our pup starts to bark at our oldest but we correct her and now knows better. When we were at these sessions we were told not to stop her from barking. The employee stated " you wouldnt stop a child from laughing and having fun with other kids". Nonsense - When we went to our second session at this location the employee had our puppy with much larger pups. She obviously felt afraid in the difference in size. We were told not to pick her up if she came to us and didnt want to interact with the other pups anymore. Basically forcing her to fend for herself. Obviously as a puppy, if your owner isnt making you feel safe then you take matters into your own paws. Because we weren't able to step in, our puppy began to go on the offensive. She barked at the larger pups like she never barked before. Afraid she was going to bite the other larger pups we voiced our concern and wanted to step out. Even the owner of the other pup said " I am also afraid she will bite my dog" But the employee said " this is a conversation the pups need to have " ... " she will not bite ". Our pup basically snap and we weren't allowed to correct her behavior. Instead the employee pushed classes for us to sign up so our puppy to " learn ". Needless yo say, we arent returning here for the puppy play time. We went to a different petco and saw similar faces. So we aren't the ones not returning to this event at this petco on 86th. If you choose to participate just be attentive. Just because someone works at a pet store doesnt make them a professional. To some its just a job. Not to say all staff is like this. Just be careful in who you trust with your little ones.
