4.8/5- definitely coming back. I come to this place often for a good bowl of pho at a good price. Only critique is that sometimes the beef slices are not that tender . Otherwise no complaints. Solid portion sizes, delicious cuts of tender meat. Soup warms the soul, clean environment, and good service.
I was looking for a quiet place to have some coffee, when I saw this restaurant. Asked if they had coffee, yes we do. Once they brought it, I was totally surprised how they served it, it was certainly delicious. Their customer service was amazing. Time for me to go for my appointment, but promise myself to come back to taste their delicious food that I saw their customers enjoying their food. Weeks later came back, had my coffee again and asked what they would recommend for me to order. I decided to have their Caramel Fish (Salmon). Wow, haven’t seen a Salmon being served this way, that I asked how to placed it on my plate. Once it was done, I definitely had to say; Delicious, I definitely enjoyed all. At the same time I had a moment to see how they all worked together, taking care of their customers. I met the owner Mr. Lin and Karen that they had asked me how its my food. My sincere response, first time I ever have this delicious food, being served in such high quality plates. I definitely will recommend this place. Excellent service, great atmosphere indeed.
This was my first time ever trying pho and I’m so glad it was because it set my standard for pho very high. It was really good and tasty. The broth was the best part because it was very savory and flavorful. The noodles could’ve absorbed the flavor more better but overall worth the price. The beef also paired well with the dish. I definitely wanna go back again. The service was very very quick and you get free hot tea and complimentary sauces with the pho. The price is also affordable and cheap since I ordered the small bowl of pho which was massive and could feed 2-3 people all for $11.95 I also ordered the shrimp spring rolls which tasted nice with the peanut sauce and I’m not a fan of peanut sauce but this one was good. It did feel like the servers were waiting for me to finish so I felt kinda pressured to eat the pho quickly since they kept looking at me to see if I’m done but I’m not so bothered by that, others might mind that tho. Next time will try their drinks and other phos!
Pho Grand isn’t new, but they opened a new location in Flushing. They replaced another Vietnamese restaurant. They replaced the tables but the chairs and settings looks essentially the same. The register is no longer at the entrance. The sauces on the table are all new and they put up a huge tv by the entrance to the kitchen. . It’s your typically Vietnamese restaurant food. . What we ordered: 1- Calamari $9.95 - it was good, but maybe on the dry side, so you definitely needed the sweet & sour sauce 2- #1 Big Bowl $13.25- looks like they only have one size of the tradition noodle soup - the broth was on the light side, it was overly beefy or salty. It was good. And importantly, the broth was hot, it cooked the raw meat and bean sprouts. Pho best’s broth was never hot enough, I complained one time, and they gave me an attitude 🤷🏻♀️ 3- Grilled Pork Sandwich $9.95 - not to be mistaken with bahn mi, it’s just a grilled pork sandwich, like your pork chop rice but in a sandwich vs rice. It doesn’t have pate, mayo or any of the traditional bahn mi ingredients, maybe just the cilantro. This was very good. The bread was toasted and they give you a very good amount of grilled pork. But now that I look back, it probably been better with some fish sauce on the side for dipping. . Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I would like to go back and try their deluxe pho which comes with ox tail and another one of their sandwiches- they only have 3 options on the menu.
We’ve given this establishment a few tries after it replaced Pho Best. And we keep getting disappointed. The portions are much smaller and the quality of the skin on the rolls are less than paper thin. Our spring rolls keep bursting open. We included a pic of a recent takeout order for reference. This happens when we eat in during lunch too (we love pho & this is the closest place to our work). We ordered pho with the spring rolls so we handled our order extremely carefully on pickup. They also neglected to include the bean sprouts, lime, and garnishes customary with pho in our take-out.
