Sorry that it’s a long overdue review, as the piano has been sitting in our home for more than a month. but we couldn’t miss the chance to leave a glowing 5-star review (or more if it were possible!). Isaac and his Prosper Pianos is truly among the best and most genuine piano dealers in the NYC and NJ area, especially for used pianos. My husband and I were looking for a used upright piano for our new home in NJ, however we were based in CA and the UK at the time. It was a serendipity that I spotted Prosper on google map: Isaac has uploaded extensive information, pictures and 2 videos for each used piano, which is extremely helpful for potential buyers. When I expressed my interest in a Young Chang U-131 (the one we finally invested), Isaac kindly offered a virtual trial when I was in the UK, answering my questions patiently, sending in more videos and soundtracks. At no point did I feel pressured, and Isaac even encouraged me to hold back and think twice before an in-person trial, which made the entire experience feel personal and genuine. I finally got a chance to meet Isaac and this piano in person in mid November 2024. Through conversation, I’m very touched by his humanistic way: building up confidence in a piano is certainly a personal process ; furthermore, I suppose, as the name of ‘Prosper’ suggests, Isaac feels a big happiness in restoring and tuning used pianos, giving them a second life and enabling them to create beautiful, prosperous sounds once again. It was such a pleasure to talk to Isaac and to listen to his insights about music as life. And needless to say, our Young Chang has since brought endless joy and serenity to our small apartment—it has become the heart of our home. We are so grateful to Isaac and Prosper Pianos for such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

Prosper Pianos is fantastic. I bought a 1905 Bechstein Model A from them, and Isaac was fantastic throughout the process. Making an investment in an older piano has to be done with care, but Isaac and the craftsman he used did an amazing job restoring and rebuilding the Bechstein. My son is very happy with the piano so far, and we highly recommend Prosper as a business that really cares not only about pianos but also about preserving history.

After paying hundreds of dollars for a piano on Facebook Marketplace that turned out to be broken, I realized that it’d be better to find someone I could completely trust would sell me a reliable piano. Isaac is that person. He’s honest, fair, and his commitment to quality is really special—it’s a wonderful trait in a person (and even moreso a business!) to value integrity above trying to make a quick buck. I had an absolutely fantastic experience buying a Yamaha upright piano from Isaac at Prosper Pianos. After I reached out explaining I was considering purchasing an upright, Isaac invited me to visit the shop to check out different pianos he had available. Isaac spent over an hour showing me different models and helping me get a feel for what I might be looking for, sharing advice about piano placement and care, and more. I never felt any pressure to buy – Isaac clearly wanted me to end up with an instrument I loved, even if that meant waiting for a different model to come in. Over the next few days, he stayed in great communication about which pianos were still available, then allowed me to come back and spend even more time playing my final choice to make sure I felt great about it. The purchase process was easy; I really appreciated Isaac's flexible payment options and timelines. His delivery team brought the piano into my apartment seamlessly. I've had it for almost a month now and have fallen even more in love with the piano the more I've played it. I truly cannot recommend purchasing a piano from Isaac and Prosper Pianos more highly!

I can’t recommend Isaac and Prosper Pianos enough. Isaac was incredibly communicative throughout the entire piano shopping process and never once made me feel pressured or stressed. While I was testing out pianos, he walked me through a wide range of options and described each instrument with such care and detail... you can tell he truly loves his craft. They coordinate the movers for you, making the purchase and delivery process unbelievably easy. The space itself is beautiful - filled with amazing instruments and genuinely kind people. A true neighborhood gem!
