I recently had the pleasure of getting 3 dresses tailored at Queens Alterations & Tailoring and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional! Firstly, the location and the tailor herself were extremely professional. It was very clear that Miriam (tailor) knew what she was doing which put me at ease, especially considering how delicate the dresses were. The location had a welcoming professional atmosphere, and I appreciated the private room provided for changing into the dresses. The whole process felt personalized and comfortable. Miriam took meticulous measurements herself, ensuring that the dresses would fit perfectly. And fit perfectly they did! When I tried on the dresses after the alterations, they hugged my body in all the right places. The attention to detail and the level of skill demonstrated in the tailoring was truly impressive. Miriam listened to what I wanted and delivered as requested, I got compliments on how well the dresses fit. All 3 dresses were completed on time as promised. And, when I needed to reschedule my pick-up appointment, Miriam was understanding and accommodating, which I really appreciated. As a plus size bride I was worried that alternations were going to be expensive and hard to find. A friend recommended Miriam and I am SO glad they did. Miriam is professional, responds quickly to messages, and her work is incredible. She did everything I asked for and took the time to explain why things would or wouldn't work and how it would affect other parts of the dress. I am looking forward to using her again in the future!

Miriam is super attentive, and an absolute problem solver. I will tell anyone to go get their wedding dresses altered by her. I bought a beautiful dress that was challenging in a few different ways. First, it had a corset that was both too big AND too long for my short torso. Second, the material turned out to be very difficult to bustle since it had so many layers. I was so worried I would be stuck with an ill fitting dress, and I started to regret my purchase but Miriam was so patient with me and made all the adjustments I didn’t even know you could do, while she maintained the overall look of the dress, and she diligently added several pick up points so we could get all the material bustled up. On top of all that she fixed all the pokey and jabby bits of the corset; I went from having a stomach ache everytime I tried the dress on to being able to dance all night long pretty comfortably. Despite all the alterations needed she was affordable. So glad I found her! Some photos of the dress after she altered it.

Miriam is one of, if not the best, seamstresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She altered my gown and my daughter’s bridal gown, and the results were absolutely stunning. Her work is professional, quick, and friendly, and she makes the entire process easy and enjoyable. As soon as you walk into her shop, you feel like you’ve known her forever.
