Rainbow Cakes & Donuts

I love the pastries at this bakery! I also tried their small mooncakes, and they were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back here for mooncakes next year.

Came in early a.m., walked in to a bright and energetic atmosphere. Greeted by the cashier I gave my order. 1 Coffee and 6 donuts, not only was the price right; the donuts were phenomenal. I was unsure of what to get but they were patient with me lol I am a bit of a coffee snob and this was one of the best I’ve had. I’m always weary going into new territory (my own bs) but this was a delightful encounter for sure. I will absolutely be returning (with my children) as they could not get enough of the donuts. My new favorite spot without a doubt!!

I went here when it was new and didn't find a lot to choose from (maybe they ran out already that time of day). Popped in recently since was in the area and there were a lot more buns/baked items to choose from. Prices are lower than some bakeries. Mochi donuts are $3; buy 2 get 1 free. Steamed buns were ok: tried the pork and veggie; and combo bun - with added quail egg, piece of sausage and shrimp. Staff is helpful, and amiable. Have tables/stools so good for a quick bite. No restroom. Not far from Queens Boulevard so close to buses and Grand Ave/Newtown subway stop.

Pulled up to Rainbow Cakes & Donuts like a grown man with dessert priorities. 📍 86-22 Broadway, Elmhurst, NY Ordered the ube Swiss roll and yeah… game over. Soft, fluffy ube chiffon, rolled clean like it trained for this, packed with ube whipped cream. Zero cracks. Zero mercy. Then came the mochi donuts. 🔥 Pineapple Mochinut — first bite screams PINEAPPLE. Soft, slightly chewy, creamy frosting, dangerously good. 🍫 Chocolate Mochi Donut — solid, rich, did not disappoint. Didn’t stop there because I have no self-control: 🍓 Berry marble cheesecake — straight-up irresistible. 🥐 Mille-feuille (Napoleon) — aka “a thousand layers of don’t ask questions.” Flaky, buttery, rich… this was the victory lap dessert. Coffee? Top tier. Staff? Attentive, locked in, took care of business. Came for donuts. Left emotionally satisfied. Real men eat dessert.

Don’t buy party cake with them!!!! i paid $135 for 8+10inchs fresh fruit party cake. Even tipped $10 to the cake maker while I placed order. I asked for the light light light pink like pics#3 with out their cake decorations cause they don’t have Sanrio. But the color come terrible on pic#2. Can’t change in the last minute, once I saw what do they used for the fruit layer, I knew that this cake is the only drawback my party!!!!
