Amazing doctor! Great bedside care and very diligent in his specialty. I’m so happy I was referred to Dr. Pizzo.

I initially gave a 1 star AND wrote a detailed review explaining my experience with this provider and the facility, but I deleted it to give the place and the provider another opportunity to rectify the issues, especially since the provider called after the first visit to make amends. I will be impartial and provide this provider a 2 star (the 1star increase is because the provider was able to accommodate my schedule for 7am appointments AND show up on time for the remainder of the two appointments). My overall experience at this facility and with this provider and his staff has been subpar. I can bullet point each reason why I was dissatisfied with this facility and provider, but I want to be succinct here. The provider has a noticeably unpleasant attitude, which set a negative tone for the following visits. Because he exudes such demeanor and tolerates an environment like that, his entire staff, specifically his medical assistants mirror his behavior. The only people there who are actually professional and respectful is the xray tech and the individual who works at the front desk upon entering the facility (she's the older individual who checks-in pts). A more respectful and professional approach would make a big difference- which is appalling that patients need to even ask for this. If the provider is reading this, note that you and your staff made me wait OVER 20mins to receive a copy of the xrays. If I had not followed-up with the front desk, I would have continued to wait longer. Instead of apologizing for the err on your part, your team deflected responsibility and accused me of not communicating to your staff about wanting copies of the xray (which I did, but guess it's my job to chase everyone there around and tell them how to do it). All, if you actually look up the reviews for this specific facility (Summit Health in Forest Hills), you will see more detailed reviews with a plethora of 1 star ratings.

Very disappointed. Dismissive doctor who became offended when patient brought test results from an outside testing center obtained prior to appointment. Tests which were ordered from primary care physician after being referred to specialist. Exact words from Pizzo prior to entering exam room: " I won't have a patient tell me what's wrong. " Avoid this doctor and the facility - whichever one they end up working in - save yourself the time and embarrassment. Fun note: doctor cancelled appointment on zocdoc after patient left building as to avoid having a negative review posted against him. I wouldn't expect this behavior from a doctor but I guess those bills and crippling debt won't pay itself. Doctor also refused to refund copay despite no tests or service provided after his statement above.

Very condensending , never saw my xrays , they were never explained . I was given a diagnosis that my pain was from my neck and that my knee and hip pain wasn't as bad as I explained. How would he know ? He lacks professionalism , courtesy and is very nasty. Zero bedside manner. He's definitely in the wrong profession IMO.
