I hired RK Design via a good friend’s recommendation to renovate a very old kitchen. The entire team from the initial phone call to the very end end was an absolute delight to work with. I was walked through all the steps and was given clear and constant communication throughout the entire process. Michael and Ryan were great with providing reassurance on any of my concerns when I asked for it. They were patient and thorough with my lack of knowledge on all things construction and the complexities of dealing with supers in old NYC CoOp buildings. I was truly blown away by their dedication to my project, time and property. Even when I did my final walk through and found a few minor issues - these were quickly addressed and fixed!! I HIGHLY recommend RK Design. My new kitchen brings me peace and joy every day! Thank you RK Design!!

Nearly all aspects of our project I would rate 5 stars with just 1 or 2 items of concern, which is super impressive given the complete kitchen renovation and so much more. For those items, Ryan and team responded (per their note below) with timely solutions and guidance. A year later he came back on site with his team to resolve one issue and address a door we managed to damage with exercise equipment. Ryan was super professional & committed to our project. We did extensive electrical & lighting work, including recessed lighting w/ dimmers which he patiently redid until perfect! We love them. He joined two big, distinct closets into 1 Lg, walk in which turned out great. He sourced historic parquet floors then oversaw a seamless install with our existing parquet floors. They look as if they were installed and refreshed with the original floor. He was onsite everyday & personally oversaw so many details! Ryan/Michael also supported a late project change order w/ dogged determination. The new door cut/installed for us has been a god-send! SUPERB execution in a very major architectural change that Ryan implemented beautifully. Some day we hope to do our bath/foyer/bedroom and RK Design will be the first call we make. Ryan and his team are excellent. Thanks again Ryan and Michael! p.s. Among many lessons learned: 1) One big ask I had was under cabinet kitchen lights. We *love* the impact of the lights, but the dimmer controls are on opposite sides of the kitchen inside the cabinets themselves. Lesson learned: Recommend when asked to say you do want the switch at the entrance of your kitchen and the dimmer to be integrated into it. :) 2) Opt for kick/toe molding (even behind appliances if possible). 3) If you're using exercise equipment, share your use cases so Ryan can offer the best solutions -- he will definitely have them.

I had an excellent experience working with Michael and Ryan from RK Design - they helped renovate my studio apartment in Manhattan and I couldn't be happier with the results!
