I recently visited this cozy hot pot spot, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The soup base was rich, flavorful, and not overly spicy—just the right balance for a comforting meal. The spread was impressive, with fresh, thinly sliced beef, perfectly portioned noodles, crisp vegetables, and a variety of tasty condiments to customize each bite. Everything was neatly presented and cooked to perfection. Not too crowded during the time I went in making it easy to enjoy the meal at a leisurely pace. Love the original flavor! Absolutely loved the rice noodles here! The noodles were perfectly cooked — soft but still chewy with that great springy texture. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and you can tell everything was made fresh. Portions were generous, and the toppings (fresh herbs, tender meat, and crisp veggies) really brought it all together. Comforting, satisfying, and exactly what I was craving. I’ll definitely be back for another bowl soon!

Just had the most amazing rice noodles! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the toppings were fresh and generous. Every bite was comforting and delicious—I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic, hearty noodles.

Just when I thought Elmhurst was on a downward trend as restaurants kept closing, I was surprised to run into this new establishment. The signage and lights acted like magnets, and really drew me in. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the staff told me the restaurant was less than 1 year old. The interior was as inviting as the exterior: new, well-lit, and with a great ambiance. "Shi-miao-dao" in Chinese means "the 10-second time is up," referring to the amount of time required after you put the rice noodle into the broth. Yunnan rice noodle has gained popularity in recent years, and I have experienced the "mini pot pot" concept and free refill offer in Chinatown. But that didn't contain my excitement for this place. We made a mistake as we were distracted by the new items advertised on their menu. We fell for it and forgot about why we were there in the first place (the rice noodle soup). We ended up having: Nanchang Mix Rice Noodle with Beef (mild spicy) $10.95. It was very tasty, and the texture was very pleasing to the mouth. Everything was on point. Scallion Pancake Sliced Beef $6.95. This one was a bit of a miss. We were expecting a pancake like the one served in Nan Xiang Shao Long Bao, but instead, it was rolled up into a wrap, smaller in size, and without Hoisin sauce. The complimentary probiotic drinks that came with the bill were a nice gesture. We can't wait to be back to try their signature rice noodle pot!

ShiMiaoDao Yunnan Rice Noodles impressed me with its clean atmosphere and excellent service, which might be attributed to it being a newer spot. I ordered the Spicy Beef Rice Noodles, and the experience of following the preparation instructions was surprisingly enjoyable and unique. The dish itself was very flavorful and satisfying. While it was described as spicy, it was quite mild for my taste, registering at about a 2 out of 10 on the heat scale. I found it incredibly filling and rich in flavor, finishing everything except for the soup. I'd give my meal an 8/10 and definitely plan on returning to explore their other dishes. I can confidently recommend what I had!
