The variety here is kind of crazy — vegetables, mushrooms, seafood, meat, noodles… so many options that I literally didn’t know what to pick. Everything was also super clean and well organized, which made me feel really comfortable eating here.
I went with the staff recommendation and got the beef bone broth, and wow… the first sip actually surprised me. It’s rich, flavorful, but not heavy The fried egg was also insane (in a good way) — it was packed with soup inside, super satisfying.
We also tried the sweet-style mala mix, which I didn’t expect much from, but it turned out really good. The sauce was very generous and flavorful — definitely the kind of dish that gets more addictive as you eat.
Really recommend to try. The signature beef bone golden broth is a must-order — one sip and I was hooked. They also have Northeastern style thick malatang, mala ban, and mala dry pot, and you can choose your own spice level
The sauce bar is also great. You can add scallions and cilantro, plus sugar, vinegar, and chili oil to mix your own perfect flavor.
The ingredient display is honestly impressive — there are so many options that it almost gives you decision anxiety. All kinds of meats, seafood, and vegetables, and you just pick whatever you want.
The fried skewers are also a must. The chicken cutlet is crispy outside and juicy inside, and the starch sausage is my favorite. If you like meat, try the beef skewers or sausage, and the veggies like mushrooms and cauliflower are great too. I end up ordering a few skewers every time.

Cannot believe this place wasn’t more crowded on a Friday evening! Will absolutely be coming back with more people.
💵 Extraordinary cost value—came with a party of four, we all filled up our trays and all of our bowls were $22 or less after tax.
🥘 Plenty of the typical options for hot pot, and plenty of broth options, even for your friends that can’t handle spice. Taste was great as well, dry pot was a little salty towards the end but nothing atypical of Malatang.
🍴 Great service! Bowls were cooked quickly, quick water refills and plenty of napkins.
A Must-Try for Great Value Malatang!
Whether ordering takeout or dining in for a DIY combo, this place always satisfies. The set meal is very fairly priced, and they’re generous with both meat and veggies. The dry-style with creamy sesame sauce and sweet-sour tang is also a standout—so flavorful.
PS: you can dine in next door before 6pm.
We went to Show Mini Hot Pot New York 秀海福麻辣烫纽约店 and had a really good experience overall.
It’s a small shop where you pick your own ingredients for your bowl, which makes it fun and customizable. There’s a great variety of vegetables, meats, noodles, and skewers to choose from. You also get to pick your soup base and spice level. We went with slightly spicy and it had a nice kick without being overwhelming.
The bowls are huge and definitely filling. Just something to keep in mind, it did end up being quite salty by the end, so I would suggest being mindful of that when choosing your base or add ons.
Seating is actually through their BBQ restaurant next door, which you can access from inside. You find a seat there and they bring your hot pot bowls out when they’re ready, which was pretty convenient.
Overall, it was a good experience with generous portions and lots of options. Would go back and just adjust the salt level next time.
