Sid Gold's Request Room

Sid Gold's Request Room in Chelsea, NYC (165 W 26th St) is a lively piano karaoke bar hidden behind the main lounge, offering live accompanists six nights a week for an authentic cabaret vibe. The crowd is welcoming and supportive, making it fun whether you sing or just cheer others on, with talented pianists who know how to hype up the room.

We went on a special night… Monday night when a regular was there who has been featured in a lot of places. He’s not in nyc anymore. Loved this piano night with professional singers.. drinks aren’t amazing but the prices are reasonable. We got a table and it was fun.

If you’re a karaoke enthusiast (as I am, unfortunately for my friends) this is a must experience. Wendy was a total pro at the keys with a deep song list (and able to herd cats in a way you absolutely have to in running late night karaoke in this setting!) The setting makes it easy to make new friends. Cocktails and staff were awesome too.

My boyfriend and I spent the day exploring Chelsea Market, Little Island, The Highline, and Hudson Yards. We decided that we would walk back to our hotel in Times Square. We love live music and this is how I can upon Sid Gold’s Request Room. Other than that I didn’t read any of the other reviews. At first it was a little hard to find, but we found it. When we walked in there was nobody in the front half of the bar except two bartenders. It was a Monday night. The asked us if we were there to see the piano and that we just needed to go behind the curtain. When we went behind the curtain to the other half of the bar we found piano karaoke of showtunes and musicals. The individuals singing were extremely talented. We felt like we were on Broadway. I wanted to sing Hello Dolly but I was too scared maybe next time after some practice. The next morning I asked my boyfriend what his favorite part of the day before was and he said the piano karaoke. He said they all just sang so beautifully and it was such a unique experience. I said that’s what I love about Mew York City you can go for a walk any place and stumble across one of the best times or nights you have had. Everyone was welcoming and kind at Sid Gold’s thanks for sharing your talents with us.

We had a great night here. We didn’t realize how live piano karaoke worked so got up and were lost. But the pianist helped us along and the crowd was helpful! Drinks were okay. I wish there had been more people in the club as it was only about half full and the same 4 people kept getting up to sing.
