SS Natural Market

Excellent. But very expensive. The place is always very fascinating to shop at, since they have hard to find things and lots of former options. Very large sandwich / salad section. We always loved this place.

SS Natural Market is hands down one of my favorite places to shop. The people who work here are genuinely awesome, and I always enjoy coming in. They consistently have everything I’m looking for—and usually more—including a lot of hard-to-find items I can’t seem to get anywhere else. The women at the register are always a pleasure to deal with: friendly, patient, and attentive. They also take real care when packing the bags, which matters when you’re buying unique or specialty items. That kind of thoughtfulness really stands out. I go here almost primarily now because they’re so reliable, well-stocked, and welcoming. It’s the kind of neighborhood market that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended.

For a long time now I have been ordering delivery from the Natural. The night before I need the delivery, I write an email and send it in. The next morning Barun calls me when he has finished the shopping and tells me when to expect it. I'm pretty familiar with the Natural. When we had a car, my husband used to drop me off and pick me up after I was done shopping. After he stopped driving I took the shopping cart and went in person. But now we are older and it's hard for me to get around I do it this way. I don't know what I'd do without Barun and the Natural. I buy chicken, pork chops, their freshly made sirloin, salad vegetables and some fruit and potatoes. It is hard to find those things around here. I put the meat in the freezer and defrost it when I need it for recipes. They don't charge for delivery but we tip the delivery guy who is very nice. When I used to shop, I would compare prices. Some things at the Natural are the same price at the regular grocery store. One vegetable might be more, the next one less. I should post a picture of my freezer contents: containers of soups like lentil, chili, spaghetti sauce, and more, all I've made from my delivery shops at the Natural. They also have regular groceries like Smucker's preserves which I would pick up at the Natural because it actually cost less there. It's nice to know they have them so I don't have to do an extra shop. Anyway, that has been my experience with the Natural. Thanks for reading.

I liked this place until I tried sandwiches today. I knew they sell their products and produces more expensive than other places, but didn’t know their $13 sandwiches were like this. I ordered grilled chicken & mozzarella sandwiches. You can get a better food for $13 elsewhere. I am disappointed. The taste was blend and the chicken was tough to chew. I am disappointed. Their salads were okay. Please go elsewhere if you wanna get ready to eat food.

On Tuesday, 2/24, at about 2 pm, I walk to my local grocery store. There are other options nearby, but I chose SS Natural Market. I've shopped here for 10+ years without problems; everyone is usually kind and helpful. A woman raised her hand to signal me that I am next. Once there, the cashier completely ignored me. Her colleague requested assistance, and she focused on helping her without speaking to me. I was patiently standing there. She returns and rings up my groceries. She stated how much the groceries cost, and I responded, "Hello." After replying "yes"  to me and intentionally refusing to say hi or hello back, she shouted that she'd said hi to me. I told her, no, you didn't. I said to her that you helped your coworker without even glancing at me. She yelled that she'd said hi and was quite combative, but she hadn't yet said hi. She called me crazy and stated I had a mental health illness. I told her that she just did not like being challenged or corrected.  I said to her that I exist no matter how much she tries to ignore me, and I left. I was headed to Austin Organic Market, where they often greet me and chat with me. I left, and I hear Ms. Ms. Ms. she chased me down because she was too busy insulting me to realize that she did not collect my money. I returned, went to another cashier, and then asked to speak with the manager. I spoke with him, and he sent me to his supervisor (the new owner). Since the former Mr. Kim sold the store, I spoke with John Kim, a different Mr. Kim (much younger). I informed him what happened, and he apologized profusely and said he would try to speak with her. I replied, try? He said that he was apologizing on behalf of the store and stated he didn't really know the woman, as he was new to the store. He said that I was the first complaint against the woman and began to offer me something free, then stopped himself and said, "Let me know what you want. I told him I wanted an apology from the woman who called me names, but he basically said no. I do not understand why I was so disrespected. I have my suspicions, but I won't go there... sigh... It's exhausting!
