Beautiful church both inside and out. They seem to do a lot of good work for the community as well. I often see lines of people receiving food.

It's a beautiful place to pray and visit. I loved all the architecture and paintings here. The chapel is a haven of peace.

I walked by St Barts today as we do several times a week since we live in the area. This is a beautiful old church built 100+ years ago but the congregation was founded in 1835. I know they have a lot of outreach programs including feeding the poor. Usually there are a few homeless people sitting on the front steps of on the north side street.

I visited St Bartholomew’s Church in New York (Oct 2025) and it ended up being one of my favorite stops in the city. I went in the afternoon when it was quiet inside. The building feels solid the moment you walk in. The space is huge but calm. You can hear the sound of footsteps echo under the dome and it gives the whole place a steady rhythm.
The ceiling stopped me right away. The pattern work is insane; all that wood and gold detail arranged perfectly. I stood there for a while just looking at it.
I sat for a bit, wrote some notes. A few people came in, looked around, and left, but no one made noise. It stayed peaceful the whole time.
