This place is absolutely WONDERFUL! If I could rate this 10 stars, I would! If you're looking for a medical facility that's filled with very specific Ophthalmology professionals who lead with KINDNESS, COMPASSION, EMPATHY, PROFESSIONALISM & EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNER, well you found it! This extends to EVERY department including Primary Care, Advanced Care, Visual Rehabilitation, The Optical Department and EVERYONE sitting at the front desks to ALL of these departments including the offices BEHIND THE SCENES. My medical journey started 2017 within the Ophthalmology department at the Eye & Ear Infirmary where a lot of these students end up transitioning to, so I have a very soft, warm place in my heart for every single one of the angels with wings in this building. If you make an appointment and SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF, you WILL be seen by the right person. BE PATIENT! BE KIND! These people are NOT robots. They are human beings whose oath is to serve us. They're students being overseen by doctors with DECADES of expertise in this field. A very large number of the visually impaired population in New York City frequent these two facilities for good reason, they are EXTREMELY good. Most of the lower star reviews are from folks who LACK patience or were rude to the staff. If you truly need help, you cannot go wrong here. Schedule an appointment, show up and be patient. You'll be seen. Nothing but Chocolatey blessings go to every single person who I've crossed paths with in this building. I'm extremely fortunate to have access to you all. If you're able to register and there are no purposed and malicious clowns sitting in the waiting room waiting to antagonize me into self defense mode to the point that I have to leave or walk around until the illegal surveillance stops, Dr. Zuckerman and her ladies sneaker wearin', hot patootie intern are stellar. U fortunately they are so.good that appointements are scarce but the professionalism and excellent bedside manner make the college an affordable place to get my contacts. Thank you!

The experience was neutral. Everyone was very patient and understanding. However, there is one student nurse with stretched ears that has the worst attitude. He's impatient and rude and storms out of the exam room if he's not happy with an answer or result. Despite this I won't let one person ruin the great experience of other doctors and nurses there.

I love this place. But waiting over an hour, with no information is really not acceptable. In the past year, I’ve had several disappointing experiences here. Never before. 30 years ago, the doctors here saved my eyesight I’m sure. The problems are never with my primary optometrist or residents. They have always been wonderful. But ancillary services have been problematic.

Only issue i have is, i wasn't provided with a Trial/emergency scleral lens. Called the doctor and explained that I accidentally stepped on my contact lens, (for my left eye) Only option for me was to come in to get my eyes checked, the person that evaluated my eyes had a scleral lens for me to try on, the fit was comfortable and i could finally see clearly in my left eye, kindly asked if i could keep the scleral lens because i cant see properly, the guy said i can't so i removed it and was back to being half blind. Oppointment was just about over so just when im about to insert my contact lens (only for right eye) the person told me dont break the other lens and laughed... Definitely not happy about that, and im still left with only one contact lens, vision is also blurry in my right eye, can't function until i receive my new lenses which will take a couple weeks to a few months. And no, glasses don't help at all.
