Great place for worship for those who speak Russian and non-Russian speakers alike. There are two churches technically, one that caters to Russian speakers and one for English speakers etc. amazing place.

A wonderful cathedral with the relics of St. Nicholas II, Imperial Tsar of Russia (his coronation robe), and of Grand Duchess St. Elizabeth and her handmaiden St. Barbara.
Big and popular Russian church for Christian Orthodox. Great atmosphere. Very nice people who have been working and coming here for years or decades. Easy access by M1, M2, M3, M4 bus and walk to M96 Crosstown and (6) train at Lexington / 96th.

I attended St. Sergius English language mission at Synod, however I found the Slavonic services amazing, and is akin to experiencing worship as it is meant to be reflected in Heaven on earth. I am so grateful to have spent some time in both communities housed at Synod, and thoroughly feel filled with the fullness of the Lord each time I am there.
The Synod has been awful caretakers of this historic, landmarked building. The cornice is falling down and has been covered to protect passersby for many years with no sign of repairs being made. There is water damage on the front facade that gets worse every month. They should sell the building to someone who can properly care for the building. Right now it's on a slippery slope to condemnation.
