Tha Phraya

I had a great dining experience at Tha Phraya! The restaurant offers some of the best Thai flavors I’ve had in New York, and the dishes were fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. My favorites were the Spicy Crab Mango Salad, the Roast Duck Red Curry, and their signature Cha No.5—each one stood out in flavor and balance. The seafood platter and lava crab fried rice were generous in portion and perfect for sharing. The space feels cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly throughout our meal. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking for authentic Thai food on the Upper East Side.

This place is so homey. As a Thai who hasn't been back home for years, the dishes here really hit the spot. Their crab curry is very aromatic and rich in flavor (with a nice kick too). The softshell crab was so divine and the pork was delicious. We would definitely recommend!

Great ambiance and amazing staff was super welcoming and attentive. I had the Sai Ua Spring Rolls and the Ka-Prow Stewed Beef, and both were delicious. The garlic chili sauce had the perfect amount of spice. I really wanted to try the Miang-Kham, but it wasn’t available. I’ll definitely be back!

Really loved my dinner at Tha Phraya! NYC has a ton of Thai restaurants, but this one definitely stands out. The menu has a variety of distinct dishes, the space is cozy, and the staff was super attentive. Everything we tried was delicious! We shared the Thai Corn Salad (super fresh), the Crab Fried Rice Lava (really good, though the rice was a bit dry), and the Goong Karee with shrimp, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The sauce was so good, I kept going back for more. Would love to come back to try one of their winter specials and the Basque cheesecake👏

Came for restaurant week 2026 for lunch ($30 pp). Pretty comparable to other Thai spots. Liked the vibe and food overall, but nothing stood out to me. Maybe would come back to try their chicken khao soi? - Som tum thai: 8/10, pretty good papaya salad. Spicy. Large portion size - Peek gai ta-krai: 6/10, thought this was just okay. The wings at Fish Cheeks are leagues better than this one - Goong karee: 9/10, pretty good flavor, and lots of tender shrimp. A little salty tho - Nuea toon mor-fai: 7/10, never had Thai hot pot before. Broth was flavorful, but option wouldn’t get again
