My boyfriend and I met with Steffan to see an apartment in Astoria. We immediately told him we wanted it. We were in communication with his colleague Jennifer who had us fill out a ton of paper work that included a ton of sensitive information, along with a $20 application fee per person. Told us our paperwork was submitted and that we would hear back the next day. 4 days of both of them ignoring our emails and texts, (Steffan claimed his phone broke or he lost it, and Jennifer just ignored our emails - how professional!!!!) just to find out our application was not accepted by the landlord. When we asked why they ignored us and told us we were harassing, and Jennifer claimed she called me (still waiting for that call). I had read terrible reviews about this reality company but was hopeful that it was just bitter clients. Nope. They were 1000000% accurate. Renters beware. This group is a bunch of crooks who will take your money just to ignore you without any explanation. Both need to be trained in professionalism because neither of them claim to have any.

The most unprofessional and inhospitable real estate company I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I can’t speak for the entire company (although it seems other reviews can), but Mehmet Yuksekbas and Samantha Beresford were extremely unprofessional. I reached out to Mehmet about my interest in an apartment on August 30th and did not receive so much as a response or acknowledgement from him. I reached out to both Mehmet and Samantha again almost a month later through both text AND email and was AGAIN ignored. In the meantime, the apartment that I was so interested in became unavailable. I’m not sure what kind of customer service training these people receive but the very least you can do is REPLY to a prospective client when they reach out to you. I have reached out to dozens of real estate agents throughout New York and have never received treatment as cold and rude as I did with the Corcoran Group. I do NOT recommend.

Your worker shabir Ahmad, who works out of the Brooklyn branch. refused my nyc Cityfheps voucher illegally. After lying to me saying the apartment was not for rent anymore via email. Then my friend asked him was the apartment for rent or available and he said yes the apartment was available via her email. 📧 I then proceeded to ask him to still put my application in and he stated that the apartment was already gone even after offering him to put the apartment on hold. And explaining how good of a tenant I would be with a 700 credit score. He chose his brokers fee payment over an actual good tenant for the owner of this property. And I have found the owners information and will be sure to notify him of this abuse and neglectful leasing agent and company. I also called the Brooklyn office and the lady at the desk was very snobby and nonchalant to all of my questions, stating that there was nobody to report this to. Because , the Corcoran firm only sends the agents out. And that it was his choice on who he wanted to rent the apartment too. I will be taking legal action against this firm and my leasing agent for unfair and unlawful housing discrimination and fraud.

Michael Akkus One of the most entitled rude realestate agents I’ve ever encountered. Someone needs to remind him he sells houses not owns them. Stay away from this firm.

They said the apartment was unavailable while I was signing the lease and arranged for paying the broker fees, and first and last month of rent, and made a formal application for the property. Multiple employees in this group were on my email thread either all equally complicit or clueless. Their deliberate or not mistake costed me several days and bank fees on my short trip to NYC looking for an apartment to start my job on time. If you are lucky, you will get a ‘Sorry’ and no place to stay.
