The Dermatology Specialists - Long Island City

Hey all, one of my best experience I’ve ever had at a doctors office. They sent me all the forms via secure portal to be reviewed and signed prior of appt. Walked in, they asked proper questions and viewed the issue and handled it with care and ease ! Very seamless and efficient. Highly recommend and thank you to the staff !

The office was very clean, and even though it was my first visit, I was seen right away without any wait. The doctor listened carefully to what I had to say and gave me appropriate advice. I made the appointment through ZOC Dock this time. The clinic is also close to my home, which was very convenient. I’ll definitely recommend it to my husband and friends.

I went to Long Island City Dermatology and had a 12/10 experience. The office is unique with a cool design (they literally have leather throne chairs in the waiting area). From the second I walked in, the front desk greeted me with positive energy, smiles, and excellent service. Physician Assistant Semmy Yun was AMAZING — super thorough, patient, and not rushed at all. She checked everything I came in for, explained it clearly, and showed me examples on the computer so I fully understood what to look out for. She helped me with a dry patch on my leg and recommended a lotion that exfoliates and helps your skin absorb moisture better. I also asked about my pores, and she prescribed retinol, but made sure to explain that I NEED sunscreen because retinol makes your skin more sensitive. She even recommended the right sunscreen for me. Overall, Semmy Yun and the whole team were professional, kind, and welcoming. If you need a derm in NYC, I 100% recommend Long Island City Dermatology.

Negative stars if possible I loved my experience with Dr Wan. However, I was randomly deducted over $500 on my credit card even tho I have. insurance. I was not given any invoices or breakdown of charges and there was no one on the phone that can answer my questions. They keep asking me to send and email and send me round and round. DO NOT VISIT

I’m extremely disappointed with The Dermatology Specialists, specifically their billing practices and complete lack of communication. They charged my card almost $600 with zero warning. No email, no call, no text, and not even a receipt afterward. The charge included services dating back to 2024 (and now it’s 2026), which I was never informed were outstanding. I’ve been calling for over a week trying to reach billing and a manager, and no one will return my calls. Even the receptionist acknowledged that patients aren’t supposed to be allowed to book appointments without being told they have an outstanding balance. Like many patients, I always ask whether something will be covered by insurance before agreeing to appointments. I was told it would be covered, which is the only reason I agreed to the appointments. Clearly it was not covered. Between the surprise charges, lack of transparency, and total unresponsiveness, I would never recommend this practice to anyone.
