I think it's the oldest Santan Dharm (Hindu) mandir of the USA, still well kept and maintained. Visit with devotion and for divinity and peace. Their canteen has good food and banquet hall is spacious for events and performances.

One of the best Hindu temple in New York and New Jersey area. Vinayagar is the main deity here. Friendly priests. Temple hour’s vary between weekdays and weekends. Additional parking lot available next to the temple. Temple canteen has delicious South Indian foods. Restrooms available in the basement (way near navagraham).

The open mind explores the outer world; the open heart cherishes the inner world. To celebrate your tradition far from home is the highest form of self-discovery. Shine your true colors. Hinduism is eternally true and will remain true in the future.

Very beautiful and clean inside. Very well maintained. They don’t allow photos inside of deities. There are 30+ different sculptures of deities. The idols are very intricately carved and high quality. There is clearly visible names of each deity. This is primarily a south indian temple, familial priests. There is free prasad given, along with tilak all at the office outside. Tickets for archana and other services can be purchased at office. priests are knowledgeable and take their time. They don’t expect personal donations that is great for the atmosphere and devotion. The canteen building is separate has some of the best south indian food. MUST VISIT for anyone interested in Indian culture, vedanta, hinduism or food.

I visited The Hindu Temple Society of North America recently and the experience was genuinely peaceful. The main shrine is beautifully maintained and the architecture stands out with its detailed carvings and clean layout. The golden dhwaja stambh at the entrance looks stunning in person and the energy inside the sanctum is calming. The temple staff keeps the place very organized, and the entire space feels safe and welcoming. I offered flowers and fruits, and everything was arranged smoothly. Even on a normal weekday, the temple was well maintained and had a quiet, spiritual atmosphere. If someone is looking for a clean, authentic and well-managed temple experience in New York, this place absolutely delivers. Highly recommended for both regular visits and first-timers.
