I’ve been coming here for quite sometime now. This is one of the nicest and most affordable hair salons in Astoria. There’s never a long wait, I always come in as a walk in and always leave happy. I’ve gotten my hair cut/trimmed by almost everyone who works here and it never disappoints. They’re very quick with their services. I get a wash and blow almost every other week and my hair feels and looks healthier and shiny. I’ve gotten color done at this salon as well and they’re very attentive to my concerns when it comes to making a big change to my hair. I recommend this salon to any Astoria/Queens residents and really anyone in nyc. It’s worth the commute!

I have been coming to The One and getting my hair cut not only by the owner but by whoever happens to be available since the business opened years ago. Even when they are busy the vibes are always immaculate, but more importantly the quality of the cuts are always excellent and the cherry on top is that they are always efficient, quick, professional, dependable and consistent. I moved much further away in recent years and still go there!

I’ve been coming to see Sam for years—even followed her when she moved from a salon in Elmhurst! Her talent, attention to detail, and warm personality make every visit a great experience. My mom, my partner (who travels all the way from Long Island!), and a close friend have all become loyal clients too. We always leave feeling confident and refreshed. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your hair, I can’t recommend Sam enough!

I have been a customer of this hair salon for many years and I’ve always been very happy with their services. Steven is absolutely fantastic, very skilled, professional and personable. He always knows what my hair needs and the end result never disappoints. Highly recommend him and the hair salon!

I've been going to The One Hair Salon for about 4 years without any issues. My last and final visit was in September 2025 for the Japanese Hair Straigtening treatement. I think the stuff they used was expired or just bad because when they were done, a lot of my hair had broken off. The owner was aware of what happened and didn't apologize, and they even charged me $50 for ruining my hair. I was spending $200 twice a year and they treated me horribly. I won't return and I don't recommend going to them for any hair treatments.
