Tone Academy of Music

My son Lars was 4 when we first met Miss Jenny, the founder of Tone Academy of Music. I had bought a digital piano some years prior. With patience, love, and dedication Jenny brought out the best in Lars. Now he is 10 and a dedicated pianist. We have been going diligently to Tone since the very beginning, trusting not only Miss Jenny but all her amazing teachers. A month or so ago, Lars successfully auditioned for Mannes School of Music, a highly ranked conservatory in New York City. He will start studying there in the fall. This is all thanks to Jenny and her excellent staff, because neither my husband nor I are musicians. Miss Jenny, thank you so much for giving our son the most wonderful gift, that of music!

We love Tone Academy's program and the teachers! We have Mr. Michael and he has done a wonderful job with the toddler class. They are always so thoughtful on the themes and really provide the children with amazing instruments/ hand-made tools after every class so the children could continue the music education at home.

We love Tone Academy! Miss Jenny and her team of teachers are incredibly dedicated musicians who absolutely love children, and are truly masterful at working with children. The warmth and encouragement, the teaching while making it fun, the level of engaging, and the flexibility in approach have made for a truly wonderful experience. Eight years in, I have a daughter who still looks forward to each and every violin lesson with Ms Jenny, and who leaves each lesson even happier than she went into it.

Tone Academy's founder and director Jenny Murphy, with her extraordinary connection with children and music, years of Suzuki experience and strong credentials, has led Tone and its talented teachers and staff to become an invaluable part of our community and significant influence on the musical development for our children (and also their parents!) My children have been taking violin lessons at Tone since its inception, and the time we spend there are truly my favorite time of the school week. There is so much to be said about the success of the Suzuki method, but most importantly it has allowed us to build an extra special bond with our children as we learn and enjoy music together. My entire family love Tone and we highly recommend the school for learning an instrument and developing a lifetime love of music!

Tone Academy is a fabulous music school! We started attending the Preparatory Class when my son was just 3 months old. What a joy to watch him grow and learn in such a welcoming and enriching environment! We have both received so much from being a part of this community of excellent musicians, young and old. I look forward to the years ahead, knowing that Tone Academy has the right priorities in mind for their students, as Dr. Suzuki taught: "Where love is deep, much can be accomplished."
