Unlock Chinese

I had a fantastic experience studying Chinese at Unlock Chinese. I spent about a year and a half studying with them, both in small group classes and in private lessons. Yutong was very responsive to all communications and accommodating to my schedule and educational goals. The classes were personalized and engaging. I improved my speaking skills a lot and developed a solid foundation in Chinese vocabulary and grammar. Thanks so much for helping me become a more confident Chinese speaker!

I've been taking classes here weekly for ~6 months and have found them both enjoyable and productive. Yutong provides a great environment to practice and grow in speaking, listening, and reading, with lots of exposure to daily language and useful phrases beyond what a textbook can deliver. I took classes with Unlock Chinese for well over a year and they really helped me prepare for a longer stay in China. I had two different teachers who were both very dedicated, kind and attentive to the my learning needs. Especially for those at the intermediate and upper intermediate level, when it can become more difficult to find good teachers, I can strongly recommend the school.

I've been taking Chinese lessons with Mia (one of the teachers at Unlock Chinese) for just over a year, starting from absolute zero. In that time, I've made tremendous progress -- so much so that several native speakers I know have commented on how far I've come. Mia has been fantastic at tailoring lessons to my interests, including topics like history and politics, which has made learning engaging and fun. Classes are always on time and Unlock Chinese is very flexible with scheduling (which is useful if you're doing this in your spare time and need to accommodate your existing work schedule). Overall, it’s been a great experience, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Chinese, no matter your starting point.

Classes are very personalized, with an emphasis on speaking and translating to enabling learners to actively practice spoken Chinese through discussions, 1 on 1s with other students/teachers, and through interactive games. Yutong is a great teacher who enjoys teaching both as a tutor and professional teacher. Her classes are extremely fun and relevant to what you would talk about in your daily life. Highly recommend!
