Vision Palace Optical

My experience was excellent at Vision Palace. The staff was very friendly, and Julia did an excellent job assisting me getting a new pair of glasses. I highly recommend Vision Palace on Avenue U!

This place offers a wonderful selection of glasses and truly helpful support when choosing frames. The staff is kind, responsive, and professional—especially the young woman who assisted me in picking out my glasses. She was exceptionally patient and clear in her explanations. I'm very grateful to her. However, I did have a concerning experience with one of the doctors. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but she was working on 6/24/25. While she seemed knowledgeable and was the first doctor to correctly identify why my eyes were hurting from contact lenses (something no one else had explained before), her behavior was extremely off-putting and even alarming: 1. She attempted to insert a contact lens without washing her hands. 2. She yelled at me, saying that "water is dirty too because it comes from dirty pipes." 3. She pressed on my eye so hard to keep it from moving that it caused pain. 4. When I instinctively pulled back due to the discomfort, she physically grabbed my head and pulled me toward her. 5. She then placed a dirty, smudged lens on the wrong eye and walked away without saying anything. 6. Finally, she gave me eye drops that had expired in October 2023—over a year and a half ago. Thankfully, the young woman who assisted me in picking out my glasses stepped in to help. She was calm, professional, and respectful, and explained everything clearly. I truly appreciated her support.

The eye doctor was good, quick, and very professional. The front staff was very rude and unprofessional. Every other customer was given priority over me (even those that walked in). I don't know if it was because I was the only non-Russian customer there. Very little input/recommendation for frames and lacking of options for lenses and protective coatings. The frame variety were not good and the quality of the lenses I got were bad. The lenses became scratched very easily.

Appointment times are not honored, and customer service seems to depend on whether you speak Russian. I’ve previously been turned away for not having an appointment and told walk-ins were not welcome. Today, despite having a scheduled appointment, a walk-in who arrived after me was allowed to skip ahead. When I asked why, the staff spoke in Russian amongst themselves, hesitated, and told me the walk-in had priority over my appointment. Very rude and unwelcoming experience. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. ***The office was empty otherwise - which leaves the situation even more confusing and frustrating. ***

I am very disappointed with the service I received on Saturday August 31 2025 at the vision palace optical by the secretary who sit in the back she was so rude and talk to me ask a child. I have been a customer for the pass three years my first time have an issue with my prescription came to the office rectify issue with my prescription and she was so rude i recommended my mother and friend to vision palace optical I will never recommend anyone to your because the guy at front and the secretary in the back was very nasty and I will never recommend anyone to vision palace optical every again . Ps u need to teach your employees customer service!!
