This place is perfect—beyond excellent! The service was great; our waiter, Zack, was super nice and always attentive. We tried the sake sampler, which was wonderful, and the ramen was incredible (they even had a duck version!). The fried calamari was the best I’ve ever had. The head chef actually came to our table and recommended a couple of dishes, which made for a great experience. I had the chicken curry and loved every bite—it truly warmed my soul! I recommend Wagamama 100%
Wagamama is our go to place after work! We come for the amazing cocktails made by our favorite bartender, Hannah. She is always so friendly and attentive, and most importantly she never misses her cocktails. Highly recommend!
While on my way to one of my favorite chocolate shops I wasn’t sure what to have for lunch on Saturday. So I decided to try Wagamamma. My uncertainty about what to have for lunch didn’t end with which restaurant to choose but also what to eat. I ended up ordering 3 starters. I went with the chili hoisin duck bao which was delicious. Their version of calamari, a chili squid which was interesting but I don’t think I’ll try again. And Tokyo fries which was also interesting but I don’t think I’ll be trying again. My sister’s birthday was on Monday so naturally on Tuesday I ran to Macys (Herald Square) to get her a little something & decided to try Wagamamma once again since I felt or was cold enough to have ramen. I sat at the bar this time & ordered the Korean fried chicken bao for my appetizer & the chicken gyoza ramen for my main. Oddly enough my main was served before my appetizer. The ramen was pretty good however I wasn’t a big fan of the Korean fried chicken. Since there was hardly any chicken involved. It’s a nice restaurant with polite staff however I don’t see myself going back anytime soon.
We went by there for a quick bite and had two starters- Bang Bang Cauliflower and the Edamame. They were both absolutely fantastic and flavorful. Their Yuzu cocktail was also AMAZING. Banging 12/10 Only giving it a 4 because we were served coke (pretty flat) in a chipped glass and the bathroom was not well maintained. The ambience is so beautiful but going into the bathroom felt weird because it felt unclean - the toilet paper rolls were not filled and were on the floor, the soap dispenser was empty. Also, we hoped they had more than one veggie option per section.
I‘ve visited Wagamama in London several times and always had a great experience. When I came across this location in New York, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing, and I truly feel it was a WASTE of money. Upon entering, a female server guided me toward a bar seat. I politely asked if I could be seated by the window instead, as there were plenty of empty tables. She did not verbally respond and seemed quite dismissive. Shortly after, a male server, who was kind and attentive, brought me a glass of tap water. However, the table was sticky and appeared dirty, which was concerning. Regarding the food — I wondered how they are managing their ingredients and the recipe. Pork Belly Bao ($11): The pork was extremely dry, and the toppings were poorly prepared. Beef Brisket Tantanmen Ramen ($23): The bamboo shoots and the kimchi tasted spoiled, with a sourness beyond the normal flavor. The beef brisket was very dry, and the broth and egg were cold. For a dish that is meant to be served hot, the cold egg was particularly unpleasant. I shared my feedback with the male server, who listened carefully and was understanding. I appreciated his attitude, which at least prevented the experience from being entirely ruined. Nevertheless, I spent $40 (including tip) for a deeply unsatisfying meal.
