Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram

I've never been inside the temple, but it's an architectural marvel & cultural centerpiece for the neighborhood. It makes me want to visit Thailand after the pandemic ends and borders fully reopen again!

This was recommended by Here.Be.Barr on YouTube. When I was watching places to see/visit in NYC, he recommended this little gem. He did say it was out of the way and if you’re in the are to check it out. When I took the subway from Brooklyn to Queens, I had missed my exit and ended up at the next stop. When I opened google maps to see where I was, I noticed that the Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram temple was close by, so I decided to check it out. I went in and took pictures outside, and I asked permission if I could come inside, look around, and take pictures. I had to take off my shoes and hat, and I was fine with that. I was informed that it was a Thai holiday and there were monks in the temple. I didn’t want to disturb anyone, so I went about my way and looked around. At the top of the temple there was a monk giving a sermon (I believe that he was doing that,) and I stayed at the back and looked at everything and tried to be discreet taking pictures. I’m glad I ended up getting lost and getting off on the wrong stop. You end up finding places you didn’t think you’d ever end up 😁

One of my favorite things to do in New York is visit this beautiful Thai temple, where I can find peace and serenity amidst the bustling city.

Very great place. Peaceful & quiet. Placed gold leaf for good luck on the round rocks. We went here with Joe DiStefano on a food tour. This is a great place for the Thai community in the area. Also really shows how authentic this area is - all south east Asia. Amazing restaurants in the area! I also heard the Thai women make amazing food for The monks here at lunch time and you can volunteer to feed them....
