Weill Cornell Medicine - Long Island City

I read all those bad reviews and was honestly scared to go to this location but I actually had an amazing experience. I went for a brain MRI which is never fun, but this location was clean and staff (especially the radiologist) were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. Will definitely be back with any radiology needs.

I don’t know why this facility does not have five star reviews. Not only is the location ideal, the facility is pristine, the associates that work there are amazing. Especially the Radiology group. They take you on time. They explain everything to you and it makes testing so much easier on the patient.

Charged me $1,035 for a basic X-Ray! Never mentioned the outrageous price during the check in or procedure, so imagine my surprise when this bill arrived in the mail some weeks later. It’s an order of magnitude more than the price of any X-Ray I’ve ever had. It’s truly shocking. And anyone involved in such price gouging and lack of transparency with patients should be utterly ashamed. I’ll never return to this location under any circumstances.

You guys need to train the front desk better. Not a great feeling when they check your info, make it seem like they checked you in, forward you to the waiting room, only to be told you had to check in again separately. Wasted close to an hour as a result. If front desk training is better, maybe you wouldn’t have to deal with inefficiencies like bottlenecks and providing poor patient care.

I wanted to make this my PCP or facility since it’s very close to home. However, I’ve had numerous issues with their billing dept. as one of their newer doctors’ contracts was not appropriately updated with Anthem at the time so I had to keep going back and forth for a while until issue was resolved. Then, more recently, with a new insurance (where the Dr is supposed to be in network with UHC Choice Plus) I went in for a sick visit that probably lasted no more than 5 mins and the Dr. just went off exactly what I told him another Dr diagnosed me automatically without even assessing me appropriately first. No blood work, imaging or anything was done. Somehow, I ended up with a $300 bill, which is outrageous for this type of non specialist visit for 5 mins. Never again.
