We had a lovely stay at the Westminster Hotel and Spa. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent as well. You can’t beat this location - right on the Promenade but still within walking distance to old Nice.

Good location. Very close to the beach. Bring shoes that you can use in water, because the stones are going to hurt your feet. Friendly staff. Our room felt a little bit dated. Bathtub was not built for me with broader shoulders. AC worked quite well at start. You could adjust hot/cold and the temperature. But the last two days, we were only able to adjust the fan speed. I should have asked for assistance, but were too lazy. WiFi was quite bad. Connection issues and slow speeds. I used my own mobile data instead. Pillows were to high and firm for me. Zero sound isolation. You can people talk outside your door. Doors closing and opening. Sometimes, you can even hear your neighbors when standing in the bathroom. Breakfast was above average. Nice croissants and creamy scrambled eggs. We also liked the blueberry cake

Never wrote a hotel review before, let alone a negative one, but we’re deeply disappointed with the service here. We booked the best room in the hotel, which was clearly shown on the website as having a balcony, but at check-in the counter said the balcony is “upon request.” In the end, we had to stay in a room without one. At night, we also found that the bathtub plug didn’t work, so we couldn’t take a bath. Overall, it was a terrible experience for an overpriced stay — over €200 a night in Nice for a room without a balcony and with a broken tub. Please avoid this place. Don’t let it ruin your Riviera trip.

My problems began right at check-in. The receptionist was extremely rude. He asked for my credit card for extra charges, but since I had previously been a victim of credit card fraud, I didn’t want to have my card blocked or held. I suggested locking or emptying the minibar instead. I also told him I wouldn’t be using the restaurant, or if I did, they could disable room charging. I even offered to leave a €100 cash deposit, while the hold they wanted to put on my card was only €50. However, the receptionist rudely rejected all of my suggestions and said that if I didn’t accept his way, he would not allow me to check in – essentially threatening to kick me out. I was absolutely shocked. I travel frequently and have never experienced such rudeness in the hospitality industry. He argued with me as if we were acquaintances having a personal fight. Mr. Kerim does not seem suited for a customer-facing role in hospitality. I sincerely hope you choose better representatives at your front desk in the future. On top of that, the rooms were very old and noisy. The windows let in an incredible amount of noise. Even with the shutters down, the noise didn’t stop late at night. This hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I will never stay at or even walk by this hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in November. The property is beautiful, and my initial impression was very positive. However, the next morning I left a large amount of cash in the room safe. When I returned a few hours later, the code I had set no longer worked. While waiting for assistance, I tried several default combinations, and the safe opened on 1234. After counting the cash, I realized that €1,200 was missing. Two staff members came to my room. At first, they insisted that such a situation was impossible. They left, then the male staff member returned, saying he needed to inspect the safe again. Shortly after he left, I found the missing €1,200 neatly folded inside my bag, which had been next to the safe. A few minutes later, the female staff member returned and asked, “Did you find it?” I did — but only after their second visit. I appreciate that the money was ultimately returned. However, the incident itself, the ease of opening the safe with a default code, and the fact that someone accessed my belongings made the rest of my stay extremely stressful. I did not feel safe in my room, especially at night, knowing someone had entered and was aware of the cash I was carrying. This experience unfortunately ruined the trip.
