She saw a neurologist and two neuro-ophthalmologists, and after six long months, strabismus surgery was finally recommended. We researched many surgeons in NYC and even consulted one from Wills Eye Hospital, but ultimately chose Dr. Jay Wiznicki — and we are so grateful that we did. From our very first visit, Dr. Wiznicki’s confidence, clarity, and expertise immediately put us at ease. His diagnosis was spot-on, and we walked out of that appointment absolutely certain we had found the right surgeon. The surgery itself took only one hour, and the results were remarkable. My wife was seeing better shortly after her surgery. By the time we returned for her follow-up visit a week later, her eye was healing beautifully and the double vision was completely gone. Dr. Wiznicki is an outstanding surgeon with exceptional skill and genuine care for his patients. We very highly recommend him to anyone dealing with similar eye issues. Dr. Wisnicki is a fantastic ophthalmologist and surgeon! I've struggled with double vision for most of my adult life and worn countless different pairs of prism glasses in an attempt to get by. Adult strabismus nightmare! If you need a doctor with an over-inflated ego and the hands of a kindergartener rather than an esteemed surgeon, Dr. Jay Wisnicki is your man! Botched eye surgery which has resulted in distortion of vision, esthetics, and chronic pain. Dr. Wisnicki did not have the time or personality to give me proper care or good doctor-patient communication. Zero compassion, resolution, or resources except the delivery of snarky sarcasm. What makes a good doctor and human being is not one who always performs their procedures perfectly each time but one who is willing to find a solution when it does not. Imagine coming out of surgery worse than arriving all while doctor gaslights you into thinking results are “excellent.” I regret my decision in selecting Dr. Wisnicki as my ophthalmologist on a daily basis, and wish I would have gone for a second or even third opinion.
