Women's Pavillion at Elmhurst Hospital

Not a fake review, promise. 4 stars bc you will irrevocably have to wait. There is so many folks waiting bc they encounter such high volume of patients. Let’s all be reasonable with our expectations. Besides that, the quality of care I received was beyond my expectations. Medical staff was efficient with their time with me. I felt quality was very good and I got everything that I needed and all my questions answered during my first check up. I saw a total of maybe 4 medical staff during my appt for various things from checking vitals to bloodwork etc. I can tell they are all working hard. Let’s be patient with them especially since they are doing their best with their time with us even if it’s just 15 min. Front desk staff were very polite and professional. Spoke with 2 on separate instances during my visit. Both helped me with scheduling future appts. Bloodwork was done onsite downstairs. My tests results came in fast and efficient. I took the time to really see the beyond the chaos of the crying babies and impatient folks in the waiting room to see that the medical and front desk staffs really do their best and are very efficient and proactive in giving quality level of care. I had my reservations about this location upon reading reviews but gave it a shot. I will be having my future appointments here. They were very thorough and I felt given the volume of patients, they made the visit (albeit a long one) as efficient as they could. I do recommend folks to keep an ear out for their name, have questions written out in advance, and do your part in keeping the experience pleasant for everyone.

The Hispanic phlebotomist with long hair and glasses who was scheduled 1/9 around 1:00pm was terrible. There seemed to have been some miscommunication with the time I was supposed to receive blood work. I arrived 2 minutes earlier than the time written on my lab work and the lady rudely asked me I was late. I told her I wasn’t aware I was supposed to arrive 10 minutes early and I made a mistake and she responded with full attitude saying, “It is your mistake you knew the time you were supposed to come!” Scolding me like I’m a child! Then she proceeded to talk bad about me in front of my face with her coworker! I ended up leaving before getting the bloodwork because I genuinely thought that was so rude and disgusting! Not only that, but they were bad mouthing patients while someone was already getting their blood drawn when I arrived! Her bedside manners are terrible and I will not be returning. I am completely traumatized from that experience.

The phlebotomist(long black hair in a ponytail and glasses) in 1023 is so disrespectful. I know they had a hard time locating my veins and I am scared of the blood draw but she didn't have to tell me a couple of times how I'm such a "bad" patient. Grumpy and no bedside manner at all!

Today my wife and I arrived on time, we logged in to the hospital machine and we waited patiently for more than an hour, but some patients who arrived later than us saw the doctor before we did, because they checked in at the reception desk. I mean, if the reception desk check in faster than the machine check in, what's the use of the machine? Or is it the laziness of the front desk staff? Because I see them even eating breakfast at work. You know, we came here without even having breakfast because we were afraid of being late. This is really bad.

So here I am, outside of the building on the burning Sun, waiting for them to open the doors, when my appointment is at 8am and they request that you gotta be here 10 min before... yes 10 min before just to wait, wait and wait, on the street... oh! I’m not alone, there are 8 more people burning with me out here... Nice way to treat patients!!! Update: Staff will arrive, chillin around 8:10 am and they will of course have the worst attitude towards patients. Also if there’s any “employee” from the hospital or someone they know, they will jump the line ahead of you, even tho we were here 7:45 am, a “woman” with her two kids came at 8:12am went ahead and jumped right in front of us, just because she was wearing a hospital scrub. Nightmare just started, a front desk lady took all my information and made me wait in another line, just to find out my Gynecologist appointment is actually in a different building, THIS LADY TOOK MY ID, PRINTED PAPERWORK AND MADE ME WAIT IN ANOTHER LINE FOR A COVID TEST, WHEN I WAS HERE FOR A GYNECOLOGIST APPOINTMENT (THEY CAN SEE EVERYTHING IN THEIR SYSTEM).... it’s unbelievable how they won’t pay attention to important details, like she got me in the system, she could see why was I here for today... and even tho she made me waste my time and then I had to walk to a building next door for my actual appointment! So I end up being 30 min late... I’m not surprise everyone in New York talks bad about this hospital and the staff, also the bad reviews, it makes a lot of sense!
